AMBITION, the 501(c)(3) entrepreneurial program for disadvantaged youth, was founded in 2010 and is the heart of founder Nancy Gale’s luxury handbag brand, JAMAH. The two are intrinsically linked via their cause and commerce business model.

The program creates numerous opportunities for the students to learn business, marketing and financial fundamentals through creative, hands-on experience and collaboration.

Inspired by JAMAH, one particular project tasked the students with concepting a custom, luxury bag. Working in teams, the students explored trends, shapes and materials. Each group presented sketches to assist in conveying their vision to JAMAH’s team, including designer Gale. The selected designs were converted into patterns and produced in downtown Los Angeles.

All designs are custom-made in the USA with Italian lambskin. The interiors of some are signed by the AMBITION students!
